Next Assignment

I am over whelmed!!!
What you are/will collect (both quantitative and qualitative data)
• Where will you finding/collecting the data?
• When will you collect hte data?
• Who will help you or will you be independent in this activity?
• Why is this data important to your ar question and focus area?
• How will you analyze?
Next Post suggestions:
• refine ONE question based on feedback provided by your colleagues - (this could still be refined and altered at a later date depending on where the ar takes you)
• Answer as many of the questions above as possible - keep your question and AR focus in mind.

Am I the only one that is not clear on all of the above? I don't know when I will have time to do all that I want to do to produce a quality product?
Help-I need words of encouragement!!! :)

Take them one at a time. What is your new question based on the feedback you got?
Or
What is the focus of what you will study?
The W's and H questions are all things you already do. You have data on your customers, their needs, their priorities. Look at all the data you have available to you that you use for your job in making daily decisions.
Then Focus on your question - narrow the study - narrow your question.

Try not to focus on " ... produce a quality product?" focus instead on how the little changes you make -help your customers. The quality product you are working on is 'your professional learning'. Perhaps you should research the iPod a little more and see if this gadget would be useful in some way that is not yet apparent. That too is part of data gathering. How are others using these things? How are new teachers and their coaches using them? How are univeristies using them. Maybe then you could begin to use them in similar ways - improve your practice and ultimately help students.

In his book, How to Conduct Collaborative Action Research, Richard Sagor defines Collaborative as “working together with other professionals that have expertise and interest in the same area. Collaboration helps to build a network of individuals with common interests and goals.”

This Blog is one way to communicate and receive feedback. Have you considered face to face (or Elluminate) collaboration with other Action Researchers (with or without the same question), which might ease the feeling of being overwhelmed?

What a definite sugar rush. You know that genius is born out of frustration. The more you question, the more your focus will become clear:)
